This presentation is in the form of a town hall meeting and is designed to both address and understand some of the concerns of faculty of color in dance, particularly those in higher education navigating the tenure process. The goal is to develop strategies that provide healing and support for those negotiating the oppressive, and at times traumatizing systems of academe, and to build  supportive communities for faculty of color, by faculty of color and their white counterparts. We will confront practices that have excluded underrepresented faculty members and behaviors that have been discriminatory towards marginalized communities within academic institution.
